New Podcast up with @charlesharriott on how to travel with Jiu-Jitsu. In this we talk about the decisions that set in motion his turn from Desk Jockey to globetrotting BJJ Black Belt, and what advice he can give to people who are interested in doing the same once the world has returned to some level of normality. Super fun Podcast with a good friend, check it out.
I hope everyone is staying safe out there. Due to the gyms still being closed for obvious reasons, I have taken to recording lots of new content. Check out the YouTube Channel for new uploads multiple times a week. Yeah, that’s right.
You can also catch me on my Discord Channel if you’d like to send me ideas of stuff to record.
And I would like to announce that Charles and myself, world willing, are hoping to do a follow up USA Tour around June time. Some locations are already coming together. If you’re interested in hosting us, please get in touch.
Prior to the release of the full DVD / Digital Download of the Florida Man and The Villain Tour, here is a snippet from a class taught by myself at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Savannah, explaining my ideas on how to inflict misery from Side Control.
A lot of the February dates with Charles Harriott in the USA have been finalised and added to the events page, along with a new weekend in March in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Check out the Events page for more info on any of these trips and if you’d like to come and say hello.
Still the most watched Globetrotters in Action video, and it still blows my mind the reaction I have received from people who have watched it.
The idea behind Defending Everything is something I have seen time and time again from pretty much every high level coach I have witnessed and experienced, and is completely pervasive throughout all of Jiu-Jitsu (although not entirely given full context when taught). I have not met a Black Belt yet who does not incorporate most of the aspects talked about in this video. The difference is, is that it is not what they teach to their beginners, or even their higher students.
Jiu-Jitsu knowledge can be condensed into something very simple. It’s the timing that then becomes something to master. This video, I hope, answers most of the issues you may have with your Jiu-Jitsu. When Priit Mihkelson, my mentor, dropped this knowledge on me, it changed my world, and I pretty much abandoned all I had learnt up until that point. If you enjoy this content, please check out my other videos, linked above.
Happy New Year everyone. To celebrate, here is a brand new video, this time covering the bread and butter of all Jiu-Jitsu, the mounted cross collar choke. Enjoy
We are BACK, with our wonkiest video yet. Season Three of our Youtube instructional videos. They said it couldn’t be done. They said that we would run out of ideas after four episodes. And they were right. But we carried on anyway. In this series we will be looking at some more conceptual ideas of using the collar in BJJ, starting with chokes from the back.
